Craniosacral Therapy
Overview
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch approach with deeply profound effects. It releases tension deep in the fascia of the body to relieve pain and dysfunction as well as improve whole body performance. The craniosacral system has a a strong impact on the central nervous system. When the body endures stress and pain, it affects the soft tissues and fluid that protect the brain and spinal cord, which compromises the function of the central nervous system and the performance of all other systems in the body.
Craniosacral Therapy releases the tension and allows the entire body to self-correct. Using a gentle touch, practitioners evaluate the internal environment and release any restrictions found in the body. By freeing the central nervous system to perform at it’s best, CST naturally eliminates pain and stress, strengthens the body’s resistance to disease, and enhances health and well-being. It can be used alone or integrated with other therapies to create powerful effects. Because it is so gentle, it can be effective for all ages from newborn to the elderly.
Some of the conditions CST addresses:
- Migraines and headaches
- Chronic neck and back pain
- Stress and tension-related disorders
- Motor-coordination impairments
- Brain and spinal cord injuries
- Chronic Fatigue
- Fibromyalgia
- TMJ Syndrome
- Scoliosis
- Central Nervous System Disorders
- ADD/ADHD
- PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
